The Development Bank of Namibia secured a $1 million grant from the Green Climate Fund to build its capacity for climate finance. The money will help the bank prepare project proposals and attract private investment in low-carbon and climate-resilient initiatives across Namibia. DBN can now directly access up to $250 million from the GCF for climate projects. The grant runs through 2026-2027 and focuses on creating a pipeline of bankable climate projects. DBN will work with government, private sector, and civil society to scale up investments. This is a practical step for Namibia to move from planning to funding real climate action.
