Daikin backs National Heat Pump Week with webinars on heat pump basics, commercial systems, and the Future Homes Standard
installeronline.co.ukDaikin is sponsoring the UK's first National Heat Pump Week, running 12 to 16 October, with three free webinars aimed at installers and building professionals. The sessions cover heat pump fundamentals for residential properties, heat pump systems for commercial buildings, and what the Future Homes Standard will mean for new home construction. One key date is 24 March 2027, when the Future Homes Standard comes into force. New homes will need low carbon heating such as heat pumps and are expected to produce at least 75% less carbon than homes built to 2013 standards. The article argues that the main barrier is no longer the technology itself, but installer skills, system design, and public understanding. Commercial buildings get less attention than homes, even though offices, hotels, schools and retail units also need heating, cooling and hot water. Heat pumps can move heat between zones instead of rejecting it, which cuts carbon and running costs. Daikin says the week is meant to close the knowledge gap and speed up rollout.
