Daewoong Pharmaceutical donates refurbished PCs to underserved communities, cutting carbon emissions and bridging the digital divide
sportschosun.comDaewoong Pharmaceutical donated office PCs that reached the end of their replacement cycle to the Korea National Council on Social Welfare. The refurbished computers will go to digitally underserved communities, extending the life of working equipment and reducing the need for new manufacturing. The company says reusing one PC cuts about 232 kg of CO2, so the 150 donated units represent roughly 34.8 tonnes of avoided emissions. The donation also supports broader ESG goals at Daewoong. The company previously moved from incinerating waste synthetic resins to thermal recycling, reaching a waste recycling rate of 76.6% in 2025. The social welfare council plans to keep promoting PC reuse and expand eco-friendly sharing programs for vulnerable groups.
