cylib and Vianode Partner to Recycle Battery Graphite in Europe
recyclingportal.eucylib and Vianode have signed a memorandum of understanding to integrate recycled graphite into next-generation battery anodes. The partnership uses cylib's OLiC technology to recover graphite concentrate from old batteries, which Vianode will then test and validate for commercial use in EV batteries. This collaboration aims to reduce Europe's reliance on virgin raw materials and lower the carbon footprint of battery production. Vianode targets an emission level of 1.0 kg CO2e per kg of graphite by 2030, while cylib's recovery process claims an 80% reduction in carbon footprint compared to primary extraction.
