Cyan Ventures Green Fuels Accelerator aims to scale low carbon liquid fuels to commercial production

Cyan Ventures has launched a Green Fuels Accelerator program designed to move low carbon liquid fuels from pilot stage to commercial scale. The accelerator targets technologies that produce sustainable aviation fuel, renewable diesel, and other drop-in fuels that can replace fossil fuels in hard to electrify sectors like aviation and heavy transport. The program focuses on bridging the gap between lab scale validation and first commercial plants. Startups accepted into the accelerator get access to engineering support, offtake connections, and project finance structuring. Cyan Ventures is betting that the next wave of emissions reductions will come from liquid fuels that use waste feedstocks or green hydrogen rather than from electrification alone. For carbon markets and climate finance watchers, this matters because commercial scale green fuels are still scarce. Most production today is at demonstration scale. If the accelerator succeeds in pushing even one or two technologies to full commercial plants, it could unlock new carbon credit pathways in the aviation and marine sectors where direct electrification is decades away.
