It uses a SRAM GX Eagle Transmission for electronic shifting, RockShox suspension with 170 mm of front travel, and hydraulic disc brakes. The 24.7 kg bike is priced at 6,199 euros and targets serious trail riders rather than commuters. The 800 Wh battery is notable because it gives riders more range for long climbs without needing a range extender. The motor output is among the highest Bosch offers in this class. The display is integrated into the top tube to protect it from impacts. Nice to see e-MTBs getting bigger batteries and stronger motors. The 800 Wh pack is useful if you are doing long climbs. The price is steep, but this is a niche product. E-bikes still need better charging infrastructure and cheaper options to move the modal shift needle.

The specs are impressive on paper, but 24.7 kg is heavy for a carbon frame. More battery and motor also means more load on the grid when everyone charges at home in the evening. Time-of-use rates and managed charging will matter if e-bikes scale beyond weekend riders.

An 800 Wh battery is roughly 0.8 kWh. Even a million of these bikes is under a GWh of storage, so not a grid issue by itself. The bigger climate story is replacing car trips. But this is a 6,200 euro trail toy, not a commuter tool. Do not overstate the CO2 angle.

Would be more interesting to see this drivetrain and battery in a practical cargo or commuter bike at half the price. The tech is good, but the niche price limits adoption. For now, e-MTB sales are a small slice of transport electrification.
