Carbon Trade eXchange (CTX) has launched Corporate One, an invitation-only account for large carbon credit buyers and sellers. Instead of the standard percentage-based commissions, Corporate One charges a flat fee of US$0.10 per credit per side, with no account opening fee and no minimum balance. CTX says the account is aimed at organizations trading credits priced above US$10 per tonne of CO2e, including project developers, institutional traders, banks, and corporate offtakers. Corporate One includes 24/7 trading, T+0 settlement, and simplified transfer and retirement fees. Gold Standard, Global Carbon Registry, BioCarbon Standard, UCR, and CDM credits carry no transfer or retirement fees, while Verra VCS credits carry a one-time charge. Invitations are extended directly to eligible organizations, and those that accept by Oct. 31 can nominate up to 12 strategic counterparties per year for free Corporate One accounts. CTX says the platform has cleared more than 1 billion tonnes of CO2e offsets and operated for more than 18 years without a trade default. The move away from percentage commissions is a notable shift for an exchange that has used them for most of its history.
