AMPO Poyam Valves has won a contract to supply cryogenic ball valves for ADNOC's Ruwais LNG project in Al Ruwais Industrial City, Abu Dhabi. The project includes two natural gas liquefaction trains with a combined capacity of 9.6 Mtpa. The EPC contract is led by Technip Energies with JGC and NMDC Energy. AMPO's scope covers more than 600 cryogenic ball valves from 3 to 24 inches across the onshore liquefaction facilities. Ruwais is designed to use electric-driven motors instead of gas turbines, with power from clean energy sources. That makes it the first LNG export facility in the MENA region to operate on clean power, and ADNOC says it will be one of the lowest carbon-intensity LNG plants in the world. The project is expected to more than double ADNOC's LNG production capacity. AMPO has made cryogenic ball valves since 1986 and has supplied similar equipment for LNG projects in the US Gulf Coast, Qatar, and Australia. This order adds another major lower-carbon LNG reference in the Middle East.
