Croatia is allocating 2.7 million euros to map its geological capacity for CO2 storage. This initiative, supported by the EU, focuses on identifying deep saline aquifers and conducting a pre-FEED study for a storage facility at the Bockovac site. The funding aims to de-risk CCS infrastructure to attract private investment. Current industrial targets include reducing emissions from cement production, ammonia facilities, and biorefineries, with a total estimated storage capacity of over 1.3 million tons of CO2.
