Crew Carbon has secured $25 million in Series A funding to expand its technology that integrates carbon removal into existing wastewater treatment plants. The system uses alkaline minerals to accelerate mineral weathering, permanently storing CO2 while improving the efficiency of biological wastewater treatment. The company has already deployed its solution at nearly 10 facilities across the US and Europe. By leveraging existing industrial infrastructure, Crew Carbon avoids the heavy permitting hurdles typical of large scale carbon removal projects and has secured over $33 million in offtake agreements with corporate buyers.
