Cowboy Clean Fuels Sells First Durable Carbon Removal Credits via Salesforce and Milkywire
prnewswire.comCowboy Clean Fuels, a Wyoming-based climate-tech company, has completed its first sale of durable carbon removal credits. The purchase was backed by Salesforce and facilitated through Milkywire, with delivery scheduled for 2026. The credits come from the company's biomass carbon removal and storage (BiCRS) pathway in the Powder River Basin, which injects agricultural residues into depleted coalbed methane reservoirs to produce renewable natural gas while permanently storing CO2 on coal surfaces. The project is certified under the Absolute Carbon Standard and uses the C-Capsule registry operated by Evident. The company claims permanence of over 100 years and notes that its Triangle Unit project has passed an independent review by Climate Vault Solutions. This sale is part of Salesforce's $100 million commitment to durable carbon removal by 2030, marking a concrete step for the emerging BiCRS market.
