Mayor Richard Parker visited Coventry College to mark the completion of a 1,643 panel rooftop solar project across the college and Sidney Stringer Academy. The installation, funded by £700,000 from the Mayoral Renewables Fund plus £125,000 in match funding, has cut electricity bills by more than £95,000 in its first six months. The panels also support student learning, with electrical students getting hands-on experience through an industry masterclass. The project is part of a wider plan to modernise public buildings across the West Midlands, with E.ON and Coventry City Council leading delivery through their Strategic Energy Partnership.
