ContiTech uses recovered carbon black from Bolder Industries in conveyor belts
european-rubber-journal.comContiTech has started using recovered carbon black from Bolder Industries in its conveyor belt production across the Americas. The material, called BolderBlack, is produced from post-consumer and post-industrial rubber waste through thermal conversion. After a 12-month qualification process, the material met ContiTech's commercial standards for general-purpose conveyor belt cover compounds. Bolder says producing its rCB uses 98% less water and generates 86% fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to virgin carbon black. The material is ISCC+ certified, which provides chain-of-custody traceability and mass-balance verification. This move shows that circular materials can meet the performance and cost demands of industrial manufacturing.
