CMC Capital's Huawen Qingneng Fund has led a financing round for Dongsheng Fusion, a Shanghai-based company developing compact fusion power stations. Unlike mainstream methods, Dongsheng Fusion focuses on the deuterium-helium-3 route to reduce radiation and allow for smaller, more flexible plant deployments near urban centers. The company aims to build three generations of fusion devices over the next decade, starting with the Chenguang experimental device. This project leverages high-temperature superconducting magnets and AI plasma control to accelerate the timeline toward net energy gain.
