CMA CGM NOTRE DAME completes largest bio-LNG bunkering in Rotterdam, cutting emissions by 67%
cmacgm-group.comCMA CGM Group completed the first bio-LNG bunkering of its 24,000-TEU container ship CMA CGM NOTRE DAME at the Port of Rotterdam. The operation delivered 11,125 cubic meters of bio-LNG sourced from agricultural and organic waste, supplied by TotalEnergies. This is among the largest bio-LNG bunkering operations globally and the largest for a CMA CGM vessel. Bio-LNG reduces lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by at least 67% compared to conventional marine fuels. The vessel is dual-fuel and compatible with future synthetic fuels like e-methane. The operation supports the development of a green corridor between Rotterdam and Asia, part of CMA CGM's strategy to reach net zero carbon by 2050 through fuel diversification including LNG, methanol, and other low-carbon options.
