CMA CGM and DSV signed an agreement that lets DSV book lower-carbon ocean freight through CMA CGM's ACT+ program. The deal targets 12,000 metric tons of CO2 avoided over two years by switching to second-generation UCOME-based biofuels instead of conventional marine fuel. CMA CGM says the fuel pathway cuts CO2 emissions by about 83% compared with standard shipping fuel. DSV will use the service for its customers' cargo, adding to a list of shippers buying into ACT+. CMA CGM is also expanding its dual-fuel vessel fleet, with around 200 LNG and methanol-capable ships expected by 2031. The company's stated goal remains net zero by 2050, with LNG positioned as a bridge fuel and biofuel as one of the lower-carbon options available now.
