CLP Holdings and CNOOC have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop low-carbon energy solutions in Hong Kong and mainland China. The partnership focuses on hydrogen technology, carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), and the expansion of renewable energy capacity. A key part of the strategy involves repurposing the Hong Kong Offshore LNG Terminal to support green maritime bunkering. While the agreement is currently non-binding, it establishes a framework for joint ventures to reduce industrial emissions and diversify the region's energy mix.
