The partnership focuses on developing hydrogen energy and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects. The agreement also includes exploring renewable energy joint ventures in mainland China and enhancing Hong Kong's role as a green maritime fuel bunkering hub by building on existing LNG terminal infrastructure.

An MOU is just a statement of intent. I want to see the actual capacity targets for the hydrogen projects and how they plan to integrate this into the existing grid without massive curtailment.
CCUS sounds great on paper, but the CAPEX for those facilities is brutal. Unless there is a clear carbon price or heavy subsidy, these often stay in the pilot phase forever.
The focus on green maritime bunkering is the interesting part here. It moves the conversation from just power generation to transport infrastructure, which usually requires much tighter regulatory alignment.
