The focus on climate federalism is the interesting part here. Most of these summits talk about national targets, but the actual implementation happens at the state and local levels. If they can figure out the incentive structures for local governance, it actually moves the needle.
True, but local action only goes so far if the transmission grid can't handle the load. I want to see if the renewable energy sessions actually address interconnection bottlenecks or if it is just more high-level talk about capacity targets.
Agenda looks broad. It mentions carbon markets and green hydrogen, but those are huge topics for a two day event. Hopefully they get into the weeds on project finance rather than just listing goals.
I noticed sustainable infrastructure is on the list. I wonder if they will talk about industrial efficiency and heat recovery in the existing plant base. New builds are great, but the old factories are where the real emissions are hiding.
