Climate Finance Accelerator Malaysia 2026 Cohort: 12 Low-Carbon Innovators Selected for UK-Backed Funding
streamlinefeed.co.keThe Climate Finance Accelerator Malaysia has announced its 2026 cohort, selecting 12 green businesses to receive UK-backed funding and technical assistance. The program targets sectors like clean energy, circular waste economy, sustainable agriculture, and low-carbon manufacturing, aiming to bridge the gap between climate innovators and institutional investors. Selected companies include ByoMax, which converts biomass into fossil fuel substitutes, Entomal Biotech, which uses Black Soldier Fly technology to process food waste into protein and fertilizer, and FatHopes Energy, which refines waste oils into advanced biofuels. The CFA model, funded by the UK government, provides capacity building in financial structuring, impact metrics, and market integration to make these ventures bankable. This approach could serve as a blueprint for other developing markets, including those in Africa, where similar climate-tech startups struggle to secure late-stage funding. The program directly supports Malaysia's Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement by de-risking green investments and creating a pipeline of commercially viable low-carbon assets.
