CleanCycle Carbon is developing 10 additional biogenic CO2 projects in the US, with four moving toward contracting and equipment procurement between 2027 and 2029. Together, the projects represent more than 300 tonnes per day of potential CO2 production. The company targets CO2 separated from biogas at renewable natural gas facilities and purifies it for merchant markets. Two projects are on the West Coast, one in the Southeast, and one in the Midwest. CleanCycle says it focuses on operating RNG assets with an established production history rather than paper projects, because nameplate capacity does not always match real biogas output. The company has tested 13 sites across eight feedstocks and multiple upgrading technologies. Its first CO2 recovery plant in Lewiston, North Carolina has delivered beverage-grade liquid CO2 since December 2024. That operating data is meant to inform design and development for the next sites. The update came at gasworld's North American CO2 Summit in New Orleans.
