Claros Technologies, a Minneapolis-based cleantech startup, closed a $55 million Series B funding round on July 28, 2026, led by Treehouse Family Capital with participation from Daikin America and Veralto. The company's ClarosTechUV platform uses UV-photochemical reduction to break carbon-fluorine bonds in PFAS chemicals at ambient temperatures and pressures, converting them into harmless fluoride ions and carbon dioxide. This approach avoids the high energy costs and hazardous byproducts of incineration or supercritical water oxidation. The modular units are designed for industrial discharge points where PFAS concentrations are highest, such as semiconductor fabrication and chemical production lines. By destroying PFAS on-site rather than capturing and transferring the waste, Claros aims to reduce liability for industrial operators facing tighter EPA and EU regulations. The funding will accelerate commercial deployment of the skid-mounted systems in late 2026.
