Circularity Fuels completes first pilot turning dairy biogas into jet fuel at lower cost

California startup Circularity Fuels says it has finished the first end to end pilot that converts raw dairy biogas into sustainable aviation fuel. The company claims its modular system can produce SAF at roughly one fifth the capital cost of plants being built in Europe. The process uses cow manure biogas that often goes to waste on dairy farms. If the technology scales, it could create a new revenue stream for dairy farmers while cutting aviation emissions. The pilot is small but the cost advantage is worth watching. The next question is whether the process works at commercial volume and how the fuel's carbon intensity compares to other SAF pathways.
