CIRCON 2026 in Jamshedpur: Turning Steel Slag, Fly Ash and E-Waste into Resources
biharjharkhandnewsnetwork.comCIRCON 2026 wrapped up in Jamshedpur with more than 200 delegates and 50 speakers looking at how industrial waste can become usable material. The agenda covered steel slag and fly ash valorisation, e-waste and lithium-ion battery recycling, carbon capture and mineralisation, and circular construction materials. Tata Steel, CSIR-NML and the Indian Institute of Metals organised the two-day event. A startup pitch session put smaller ventures like Saltech, Climitra, Paving+ and Carbon Strong in front of industry and research groups. The talks stressed that technical feasibility, environmental performance, market acceptance and cost have to be handled together before lab ideas become commercial projects. The broader theme is straightforward: residues like slag, fly ash, mining rejects and spent catalysts are not just disposal problems. The conference called for more pilot projects and partnerships to move these solutions from concept to scale.
