Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has introduced the Advanced Bioenergy Fund II with a target of €1.5 billion. The fund focuses on scaling industrial-scale biogas plants across Europe, specifically targeting Denmark, Ireland, Spain, Belgium, and Finland. Backed by a €200 million commitment from the European Investment Fund, the initiative aims to decarbonize heavy industry and maritime transport. By using anaerobic digestion to convert agricultural and industrial waste into biomethane, the project leverages existing gas infrastructure to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
