The mention of a publication on carbon capture economics is the only part of this that interests me. Most of these conferences are just high level talk, but if they actually laid out the cost per ton for scaling CCUS in cement, that is useful data.
Agreed. The real question is whether India has the subsidy framework or carbon pricing to make those economics work. Without a clear price on carbon, these scale up pathways remain theoretical.
Decarbonizing cement requires massive amounts of clean electricity if they move toward electrification of kilns. I wonder if the local grid in these industrial clusters can actually handle the load increase or if we will see more curtailment.
