CII is putting together a summit on low carbon cement in Hyderabad. It is a start, but I want to see the actual targets for clinker substitution.
Agreed. The tech exists, but the cost gap between traditional Portland cement and green alternatives is where these projects usually stall.
The real question is whether India will introduce procurement mandates for green cement in public infrastructure to create a guaranteed market.
If they move toward electrified kilns or hydrogen, the local grid in Hyderabad will need a massive upgrade to handle that industrial load.
