The company plans to integrate carbon capture to make the fuel carbon-negative, estimating a removal of 110 grams of CO2 per megajoule. Cielo is working in partnership with the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation and aims to sell SAF at conventional jet fuel prices. The project would generate credits under British Columbia's Low Carbon Fuel Standard and Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations.
