Yang Tao, a Chinese energy expert who spent more than 20 years in Norway working on carbon capture, hydrogen, and digital energy at Equinor, has taken a distinguished professor role at China University of Petroleum Beijing. He says he wants to act as a bridge between China and Europe on low carbon technologies, carbon management, and sustainable energy solutions. The move signals continued cross border knowledge transfer in the energy transition space. Yang's background includes postdoctoral research at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and over three decades in industry and research. His new role could strengthen China Europe collaboration on carbon management and hydrogen, areas where both regions are investing heavily.
