China National Building Material Group has started three high-performance carbon fiber production lines at its Lianyungang base. The lines produce T1100-grade high-strength fiber, 48K large-tow fiber for wind turbines and EVs, and high-modulus fiber for deep-sea and aerospace uses. Core equipment localization exceeds 95 percent, reducing import dependence. The move builds on earlier mass production of T1200-grade carbon fiber by the same company and a separate breakthrough in T1000-grade fiber by Sinopec. These materials are critical for lightweight structures in renewable energy, electric vehicles, and aerospace. Expanding domestic supply strengthens supply chains for low-carbon manufacturing and next-generation industries.
