This project follows the completion of 11 previous wind projects in the region. 10GW is a massive amount of capacity for one area. I wonder what the curtailment rates look like here. If they do not have the transmission lines to move that power to the coastal cities, a lot of this wind just goes to waste.
True, but these integrated bases usually include some form of storage or industrial load on site to mitigate that. The real question is whether the incentive structure favors raw capacity installation over actual grid stability.
