A massive solar facility in the Talatan Gobi Desert of Qinghai Province is utilizing an agrivoltaic model to produce 8,430 megawatts of power. The project allows local herders to graze sheep under photovoltaic panels, using panel cleaning runoff to support vegetation and combat desertification. This project is part of China's broader green development strategy to reach carbon peaking and neutrality. By combining energy production with agricultural land use, the facility aims to stabilize local incomes while expanding renewable energy capacity.
