China has outlined 109 major engineering projects for its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), focusing heavily on energy resilience and decarbonization. 420 million kW for West-to-East transmission is a massive number. I want to see the actual interconnection timelines and how they plan to handle curtailment in the Gobi regions. Building the plants is one thing, but moving the power without losing half of it is the real challenge.

Lots of talk about generation and transmission, but not much on industrial efficiency or demand side management. You can build all the wind farms you want, but if the industrial heat load stays this high, the grid will always be under pressure.
