A new 107.12MW/428.48MWh energy storage project has begun operations in Sichuan Province, marking the first large-scale behind-the-meter installation for the aluminum sector. The project uses liquid-cooled systems and DC-connected technology to integrate solar power, reducing energy losses and operational costs. The installation aims to lower aluminum production costs by approximately RMB 140 per ton and reduce annual CO2 emissions by 52,000 tons. This project serves as a model for decarbonizing energy-intensive industrial parks through integrated storage and renewable energy.
