China has opened its first large scale project in Ningxia that supplies renewable energy directly to data centers. Direct links are great for avoiding transmission losses, but I want to see the actual capacity factor. Solar and wind are intermittent. Is there enough storage on site to keep the servers running when the wind drops, or are they just shifting non critical batches of data?
