China, Brazil, and the European Union have established the Open Coalition on Compliance Carbon Market (OCCCM). This new platform aims to standardize international carbon market operations by focusing on monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) systems and carbon accounting methodologies. The coalition seeks to bridge the gap between developed and developing nations to improve the integrity of carbon offsets and emissions trading systems. Member countries will share policy frameworks and technical practices to accelerate the global transition to low carbon economies.
