China, the European Union, and Brazil have established the Open Coalition on Compliance Carbon Market (OCCCM). This platform aims to foster international cooperation on emissions trading systems, focusing on standardizing carbon accounting and monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) systems. The coalition seeks to share best practices for compliance markets to help countries implement cost-efficient carbon pricing. By aligning methodologies and high-integrity offsets, the member nations intend to strengthen global climate governance and accelerate the transition to low-carbon economies.
