China Eastern Airlines Reports Major Sustainable Aviation Fuel Use and Carbon Reduction in 2025

The airline also reduced carbon emissions per unit of traffic by 5.4 percent through fleet modernization and the introduction of 21 new-energy ground support vehicles. Beyond fuel and fleet upgrades, the carrier introduced biodegradable onboard products, a Light Fly on-demand meal service to cut food waste, and sustainability-themed flights. These initiatives show how commercial aviation can integrate environmental responsibility while maintaining growth. The detailed sustainability roadmap positions China Eastern among the more active carriers in the global push toward lower-emission aviation.
