Jilin Carbon Valley has developed a high-performance 35K large-tow carbon fibre to reduce the cost and weight of offshore wind turbine blades. By optimizing the precursor material and production line stability, the company has moved from laboratory success to industrial scale manufacturing. This breakthrough allows for the creation of larger, stronger turbine blades that are more efficient than those using traditional metal materials. The project involves a collaboration between JLFiber, Donghua University, and several other research institutes to localize the supply chain for wind energy components.
