Researchers from Lingnan University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology have integrated a high-resolution carbon emissions database with the MUSICO imaging payload on the Tiangong space station. This system allows for the precise tracking of greenhouse gas concentrations from orbit. The technology maps over half of China's carbon dioxide emission sources with a resolution of one square kilometer. This enables scientists to pinpoint emissions from specific factories and facilities, providing more accurate data for climate monitoring and carbon neutrality efforts.
