China has completed its first zero-carbon industrial park under national standards in the Xiong'an New Area. This project serves as a blueprint for a broader plan to establish 100 zero-carbon parks by 2030, focusing on the integration of smart micro-grids, energy storage, and direct green power supply for manufacturing. The initiative coincides with the expansion of China's national carbon market, which aims to cover all major emitters by 2027. By linking renewable energy production directly to industrial demand, these parks aim to reduce carbon intensity in heavy sectors like steel and petrochemicals while maintaining global competitiveness.
