China Chemical Tianchen has signed an EPC contract for a new green fuel facility in Heilongjiang Province. The project will process 1.5 million metric tons of agricultural and forestry waste annually to produce green methanol and ethanol, with the capability to pivot to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production. With a total investment of 3.557 billion yuan, the plant is part of China's strategy to reach carbon neutrality by 2060. The facility is expected to begin production by the end of 2027, focusing on converting biomass into high-value, low-carbon energy carriers.
