Sinopec has started mass producing T1000 grade high performance carbon fiber at its Shanghai facility. This material is significantly stronger and lighter than steel, making it essential for aerospace, robotics, and the emerging low altitude economy. The development of 12K small tow carbon fiber reduces reliance on imports for high end industrial applications. China expects its domestic carbon fiber market to grow to approximately 8.8 billion dollars by 2030 as demand for lightweight, corrosion resistant materials increases.
