The 23rd China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning brought its Dual-Carbon Smart Energy Exhibition and New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicle Exhibition under one green development framework for the first time. Organizers say the move connects two previously separate trade shows into a single industrial chain serving the China-ASEAN FTA Version 3.0, with a focus on carbon peaking, carbon neutrality, and building out regional supply chains for power systems and electric vehicles. Key changes include a dedicated opening ceremony for the green sector, an event launch zone that combines product launches with business matchmaking and project signings, and a new power system zone meant to help Chinese companies sell solutions abroad. The exhibitions also used ASEAN demand catalogues to organize Chinese suppliers, with larger chain-leading firms driving participation of smaller companies. The China Electricity Council signed memorandums of understanding with counterparts in Laos and Thailand to work on regional power standards and energy infrastructure. Future plans include exporting green electricity, storage, hydrogen, energy-saving equipment, and EV technologies to ASEAN, along with Chinese grid standards and engineering services.
