China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security will expand training for new occupations tied to green and low-carbon industries, including carbon emissions managers. The country added 72 new occupations between 2021 and 2025, and has recognized 11 more this year. A further 200 national occupational standards are planned by 2030. The move gives carbon-related roles a formal place in the national skills system, linking certification to employment and pay. That could help build a workforce for emissions monitoring and reporting, though the practical impact will depend on training quality and whether projects actually get built.
