15 tons per day is a modest start, but the real question is the energy intensity of the purification process. If they are targeting UHP for semiconductors, the electricity load for that compression and cleaning will be significant. Do we know the planned power draw for the site?

The energy draw matters, but the carbon intensity of the feedstock is the bigger policy point. If this Engineered Mineral Hydrogen qualifies for low-carbon credits under Quebec or federal rules, the economics change completely. Without a clear certification standard for mineral hydrogen, the off-take agreement is a gamble.

Interesting to see the focus on industrial gases. Most hydrogen talk is about fuel cells for trucks, but replacing grey hydrogen in existing industrial processes is where the actual volume is. I wonder what the actual payback period looks like for the customers switching to this source.

Basically, Vema makes the raw hydrogen from minerals and CHARBONE cleans it up and moves it. It is a standard midstream play to solve the transport problem in Quebec. Worth watching to see if the pilot operations actually hit the 15 ton target.
