Five climate projects funded by the Small Grants and Climate Innovation Fund (SGCIF) were presented at the Eco Expo Central Asia 2026 in Samarkand. The projects span Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, focusing on regenerative agriculture, solar pumps, energy efficient housing, and green finance. One project aims to reduce 38,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year using soil carbon accounting and the Verified Carbon Standard. Another initiative targets green bonds and sustainable finance, potentially mobilizing $100 million for climate projects. The fund, established in 2025, supports regional resilience to climate change. A new round of small grants is expected by the end of 2026. These efforts show practical steps toward decarbonization in Central Asia, combining on the ground pilots with financial mechanisms.
