Cemex is supplying its Vertua Supremo lower-carbon cement for TM Tower, a 64-story residential skyscraper in Benidorm, Spain. The tower will stand over 200 meters tall and include 260 residences, making it one of the tallest residential buildings in Europe. Construction is expected to finish in 2028. The cement is designed for coastal conditions and can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 55% compared to conventional cement. For this project, Cemex estimates a 38% reduction in emissions versus equivalent cement products available locally. The supply is handled through partner Arenas Forna for developer TM Grupo Inmobiliario. This project shows how lower-carbon cement is being used at scale in real estate. The key question is whether these emission reductions are verified and how they compare to other low-carbon alternatives on the market.
