CEMEX is rolling out its CX Vertua concrete across US markets like Texas, California, Arizona, and Florida. The product reduces embodied carbon by up to 70 percent compared to standard Portland cement mixes by substituting clinker with materials like slag, fly ash, and calcined clay. It meets ASTM standards and is designed for LEED and other green building certifications, with a modest price premium that can be offset by incentives or owner carbon budgets. On site, crews report Vertua mixes finish similarly to conventional concrete but require tighter timing for curing in hot weather. CEMEX offers environmental product declarations and project-specific carbon data to support ESG reporting. The product is a key part of the company's Future in Action plan to cut net CO2 per ton by 47 percent by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050.
