Three tonnes of carbon credits for a single ball. That is a decent chunk. Would be good to know what standard those credits were from. VERRA or Gold Standard makes a difference.

Agreed. The article says they bought credits to offset more than the event produced. But without a methodology or registry, it is hard to tell if the offset is real or just a PR line.

The event itself is a charity fundraiser first. The carbon neutral label is secondary. Still, a financial planning firm buying offsets is a step forward. Most firms in that sector do nothing at all.
